Advances in both techniques and technology for reversing the signs of aging offers today’s patients a wide range of options for restoring a younger, smoother complexion with less pain and less downtime. A pioneer in many aspects of cosmetic treatments for facial rejuvenation, Dr. Todd Malan has developed a minimally invasive facelift procedure that uses fat cells for a natural-looking and lasting result.
Restoring Lost Volume
Facial aging is characterized by sagging skin and wrinkles. A major cause is the loss of fat volume in the area of the cheeks, eyelids, brows, and jawline. When the skin is no longer supported by fat below the surface, it sags and droops.
There are many techniques to restore lost volume. One popular method is to use a facial filler, such as Juvéderm, to temporarily plump up the skin. Without the right cosmetic surgeon, this technique can lead to a patient looking “overdone.”
Another option is a surgical facelift. This method requires the skin to be cut, retracted and excess skin removed. A skilled surgeon can achieve natural-looking results, however, many patients will come away looking significantly altered or have an unnatural “windblown” look. Surgery also presents risks associated with general anesthesia, an increased risk of infection and extended recovery times.
Fat Transfer vs. Facial Fillers
Fat transfer is more expensive than traditional facial fillers such as Juvéderm or Restylane. However, it lasts significantly longer. A facelift can last up to five years or more, whereas facial fillers only last about six or 12 months.* Facial fillers need to be repeated to maintain results, fat transfer typically does not.
The Face Lift technique uses your body’s own fat, combined with adult fat cells (found among the fat cells) to naturally restore volume to the face.
Benefits of Facelift
- All-natural, non-chemical, non-toxic facial filler
- Sourced from your body, so no risk of an allergic reaction
- Long-lasting (typical results last 5 or more years)
Facelift: What To Expect
This non-surgical facelift procedure is completed in a single office visit and lasts about 2 to 3 hours.* There are three basic steps:
- 1. Harvesting Fat
Dr. Malan will use advanced liposuction to harvest fat from another part of your bodies such as the abdomen, thighs or buttocks.
- 2. Purification
The fat then goes through a purification process to remove excess fluids and other materials to create a concentration of healthy fat cells.
- Fat Grafting
Finally, Dr. Malan will skillfully inject the fat into your face using a specialized grafting technique.

How Much Does a Facelift Cost?
Pricing for our fat transfer procedures depends on several factors. First, consider how much liposuction you want to be done. This is a great opportunity to also consider a body sculpting procedure to address areas of unwanted fat. Innovative Cosmetic Surgery Center often offers discounts for multiple procedures performed at the same time. We offer convenient payment options, including financing with Care Credit.
