Ready for a new look for the New Year?
Innovative Cosmetic Surgery Center offers a natural way to reverse the signs of aging and boost your confidence in your appearance.
The aging process affects the skin in a variety of ways and is also impacted by our daily exposure to the elements. Sun exposure, loss of collagen and elastin in the skin and other genetic factors affecting the appearance of the skin begin to become more noticeable as we age. Brown spots, wrinkles, thinning skin that show the outlines of the veins can make us feel that we look older than we are.
Scottsdale cosmetic surgeon Dr. Todd Malan is a pioneer in fat transfer to the hands, face, and buttocks. Using a patient’s own fat not only minimizes the reaction risks often associated with alternative treatment options but also delivers natural-looking, lasting results. Dr. Malan enhances the stability of the process using fat-derived cells which boost the body’s natural healing ability and the regrowth of healthy tissue in the skin. Hands that have begun to appear “weathered” and wrinkled are given a smoother, more youthful appearance using the fat transfer process.
Fat Transfer to Hands: What to Expect
The procedure for harvesting and injecting fat into the hands is completed in the comfort of our Scottsdale medical office using a local anesthetic. The entire process takes 1-2 hours and patients typically experience minimal discomfort or downtime. Minor bruising, redness, tenderness or swelling is common after the procedure and should diminish in a few days. For the best result, avoid putting pressure on the treated area until any swelling or puffiness has dissipated.
Fat transfer to the hands can offer results that will maintain themselves for several years, although periodic touchups can play a role in long-term maintenance of your new appearance.
